Today, we take a closer look at this talented British actor’s career and accomplishments. We provide an estimate of Coleman’s current net worth and discuss how she has built her wealth over the years through her acting talents.

Jenna Coleman’s net worth and career

Coleman has accumulated an estimated net worth of $5 million as of 2023. This wealth has come primarily from her over 15 years of work as an actress on British television and in films.

Some of her most financially successful roles include her breakout part on the hit series Doctor Who from 2012-2015 and her acclaimed lead performance as Queen Victoria on the popular ITV drama Victoria from 2016-2019.

With reported salaries of £100,000 per episode by the end of her time in Victoria, these steady-acting jobs have provided Coleman with her largest income streams to date.

But she first rose to fame in 2005 when she landed the role of Jasmine Thomas on the soap opera Emmerdale. She received great recognition for this part, including nominations for Best Newcomer and Most Popular Newcomer awards in 2006-2007.

Her career escalated in 2009 when she joined the cast of the school-based TV drama Waterloo Road, playing a troubled teen.

Although she struggled to find work after this series ended in 2010, she soon rebounded with appearances in the 2011 Captain America film and a miniseries about the Titanic.

Coleman has since gone on to build an impressive resume of starring and supporting roles in British television and miniseries, including The Cry and Inside No. 9.

She also made her West End stage debut in 2019 and has voiced video game roles in the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise.

As Coleman continues taking on high-profile projects like her 2022 role in The Sandman series, her net worth and esteemed career can only be expected to keep rising.

Jenna Coleman accompanied two doctors in ‘Doctor Who’

Coleman made her surprise debut on Doctor Who in September 2012, playing the character Oswin Oswald in the first episode of the show’s seventh series. She then appeared later that year in the Christmas special episode “The Snowmen” as Victorian governess Clara Oswald.

In that episode, she also portrayed a third version of Clara named simply Clara Oswald, who went on to become the regular traveling companion to the Eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith.

Coleman’s tenure as the Doctor’s companion continued after his regeneration into the Twelfth Doctor, portrayed by Peter Capaldi, in the 2013 Christmas special “The Time of the Doctor.”

She remained in the role for the entirety of Series 8 and 9 alongside Capaldi’s Doctor. So for nearly three years and across multiple seasons, she acted opposite both Smith and Capaldi as they played the Eleventh and Twelfth incarnations of the iconic Doctor character.

Within the show’s storyline, Clara proves instrumental in saving the Doctor by entering his timeline in order to reverse damage caused by an enemy. This scatters “echoes” of her throughout his history.

Her character eventually becomes a school teacher back on Earth while still adventuring with the Doctor from time to time. A key emotional arc involves Clara falling for fellow teacher Danny Pink, only to grapple with his death.

Ultimately, Clara dies after taking on too much risk and danger in an effort to emulate the Doctor’s heroism. However, she is briefly brought back to life by the Doctor before leaving to travel the universe on her terms.
