Josh Hutcherson’s net worth, salary and investments

Hutcherson has earned an impressive net worth of $20 million through his extensive and acclaimed acting career. He started early, booking notable roles in films like Little Manhattan and Journey to the Center of the Earth while still a child.

However, his big break came when he was cast as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games franchise. Despite his long resume, Hutcherson’s initial Hunger Games salary was a modest $500,000.

Outside of acting, Josh has explored creative passions like directing and producing. He executive produced indie films like Detention and The Forger while still working on The Hunger Games movies.

After completing the franchise, he continued taking acting roles in both big-budget and independent films. He also broke into TV with a starring role in the Hulu comedy series Future Man from 2017-2020.

Most recently, Josh has appeared in movies like the 2022 film Across the River and Into the Trees and provided voice work for the Netflix anime series Ultraman. In 2023, he starred in the hit horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s, likely the start of another major franchise.

Josh Hutcherson’s iconic role as Peeta Mellark

Hutcherson was cast as Peeta Mellark, the male tribute from District 12, in the film adaptation of the wildly popular Hunger Games trilogy. Though only 19 years old when the first film was released in 2012, he brought plenty of acting experience to the crucial role.

As Peeta, Hutcherson plays a humble baker’s son who harbors a long-time crush on fierce female lead Katniss Everdeen. He joins forces with her in the deadly games competition, where his character uses physical skill and charisma to manipulate the Capitol audience.

He depicts Peeta as sweet and sensitive but also strong-willed and strategic. One of Peeta’s key traits is being genuinely in love with Katniss despite her initial wariness towards him.

Hutcherson excels at portraying Peeta’s romantic feelings with an air of wistful tragedy since Katniss does not initially return his affections. His confession of love for her becomes one of the most iconic moments from the first film.

Throughout the series, Peeta goes through immense physical and emotional trauma, including torture, hijacking, and more. Viewers ache for Peeta right alongside Katniss, thanks to Hutcherson’s skilled performance.

By the end, when Katniss finally proclaims her love for Peeta, it is a tremendously satisfying, hard-won triumph for the character. Hutcherson makes Peeta extremely likable and gives him a profound character arc befitting an iconic film franchise hero.

Josh Hutcherson may return for a sequel of ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’

It seems possible that Josh Hutcherson may return for a sequel to the hit horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s.

It has been noted by sources at the climax of the first Five Nights at Freddy’s film, the main antagonist, William Afton (played by Matthew Lillard), is seemingly defeated but makes an ominous promise that he “always comes back.”

This line suggests that Afton/Lillard’s character could return in a potential sequel. Moreover, Lillard has actually signed a three-movie contract for the Five Nights at Freddy’s films.

This contract obviously implies that sequels are likely being planned, with Lillard set to reprise his role as Afton.

Given that Hutcherson plays the lead role of Mike Schmidt in the first film, it would stand to reason that he would return as the protagonist in any future Five Nights at Freddy’s sequels.

Since the first movie has been very successful, the creators are keen to make more films in what could be a new lucrative horror franchise.

So, while not outright confirmed yet, there are strong indications that Hutcherson will reprise his role in future Five Nights at Freddy’s movies.

Lillard’s villainous William Afton seems posed to come back to terrorize Hutcherson’s Mike Schmidt once again in a sequel fans can likely expect soon if the first film’s positive reception is any clue.
