Though both were guests at the large wedding, they didn’t only interact a little initially. The night after the wedding, a group of close friends gathered at a restaurant to watch a baseball game.

Mortimer and Bovard ended up chatting, and Bovard realized who she was. However, he only knew a little about the socialite beforehand. They bonded over baseball and their Southern roots.
